Navigating Open Enrollment with Confidence

As open enrollment continues through December 7, Michelle Whalley, clinic administrator of Rural Health at RRH, said that patients are calling in to ask questions about different levels of coverage. “We encourage our patients to conduct careful research before selecting plans…”

To support those navigating these decisions, HICAP counselors will be available at the Ridgecrest Senior Center on Thursday, Nov. 20, at 12 PM to answer questions and guide patients through changing benefits and upcoming 2026 updates.

The Ridgecrest Regional Hospital Foundation Board is pleased to announce Crystal Ottley as the recipient of the Fall 2025 Fred Hawkins Memorial Scholarship.

The RRHF established the Fred Hawkins Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Memorial Scholarship to honor Fred's significant contributions to EMT programs at the local, county, state, and national levels. Kelby falls out of training and into our hearts

When one door closed for Kelby, another opened—straight into the hearts of Ridgecrest Regional Hospital staff, patients, and residents.

From bringing joy to the seniors at Bella Sera to calming anxious patients during procedures, Kelby has become a beloved member of the RRH family. “She just lifts everyone’s spirits,” said Sandra Brown, director of community outreach. “I really think this has changed the entire culture of outreach”.

A Friendship That’s Stood the Test of Time 💛🐾

In this photo, you can see Violet and her longtime friend, Kelby. Through our Kuddles with Kelby program, Kelby visits Violet at Bella Sera every two weeks, a tradition filled with love and tail wags.

What makes their bond so special is that Kelby used to visit Violet at her home through our Senior Services program, long before her move to Bella Sera. Their greetings have remained the same since Kelby was just a puppy, a wagging tail, a gentle pat, and a shared moment of joy. After saying hello, Kelby settles quietly by Violet’s feet, just like she always has.

Kelby enjoys visiting all the residents at Bella Sera, but she truly looks forward to seeing Violet. Violet shares how much she loves being part of the Bella Sera community, where she has made new friends, enjoys great food and fun activities, and feels better than ever.

Way to go, Bella Sera for creating such a warm and caring place to call home!
