🚗Driving Safety in the Golden Years 🛣️

Education is key to longevity! RVNAhealth’s Sarah Triano, OT, recently visited Founders Hall Ridgefield to present on Safe Driving for Seniors. From physical adaptations to navigating new road technologies, the session provided a deep dive into how seniors can assess their own driving health and utilize available education resources. A huge thank you to the Founder's Hall community for being such an active and engaged group!

🌿 Magic of the Mediterranean: A Heart-Healthy Success! 🥗

In honor of American Heart Month, RVNAhealth recently hosted a vibrant cooking class led by our Registered Dietitian, Carmen Weber. The focus was on "The Magic of the Mediterranean"—a lifestyle that consistently ranks as one of the healthiest in the world for improving cardiovascular health. 🫀✨ Carmen brought our mission to life by showing how simple it is to combine bold flavors, fresh ingredients, and the joy of eating well.

✍️ One participant shared this wonderful feedback:
"The participants were lovely, as were the volunteers. The recipes were great! I was impressed Carmen was able to put together a healthy meal with an appetizer, main course, side, and dessert within the time frame while getting folks to participate and answering questions, but nothing felt rushed. Great information and a lovely, informative evening. I really appreciate it." 😋

On the Heart-Healthy Menu:
🫓 Hummus with Pita & Veggies
🥗 Tomato Avocado Salad
🍋 Ladolemono Sheet Pan Chicken
🌿 Orzo with Herbed Oil & Parmesan Cheese
🍓 Fresh Berries with Citrus & Honey

Our classes are more than just recipes; they are a mix of live demonstrations and hands-on activities, making it easy (and fun!) to bring plant-heavy, balanced nutrition into your own kitchen. We are so glad our guests are extremely likely to return and recommend us to family and friends!

At RVNAhealth, we believe that exceptional care starts with continuous education. We are proud to announce that several members of our team have officially become Certified Dementia Practitioners (CDP)!

This milestone was made possible through the leadership of two of our premier experts:
🌟Danielle Taibi, MOTR/L, CDP, CADDCT, Dementia Specialist
🌟Gigi Weiss, MSPT, LSVT BIG, CADDCT, CDP, Senior Director of Rehabilitative Services

As certified instructors (CADDCT), Danielle and Gigi recently facilitated a comprehensive 8-hour National Council of Certified Dementia Practitioners (NCCDP) course for our staff. This intensive training was attended by a multidisciplinary group, including nurses, therapists, social workers, administrative leaders, and volunteers.

✨Dementia care is complex and deeply personal. By expanding our roster of Certified Dementia Practitioners, we are ensuring that every department at RVNAhealth—from clinical bedside care to administrative support—is equipped with the latest evidence-based strategies to support our patients and their families with dignity and expertise.

Please join us in congratulating Danielle, Gigi, and all our new CDPs on their dedication to clinical excellence! 👏👏👏
