I love apples, but I hardly ever buy them. When I do, they sit in the fruit basket until they get old because I forget about them. Or I mean to slice them but I remember 5 minutes before I’m out the door to go to work and I don’t have time. Before I broke my leg in 2024, I felt really guilty buying pre-packaged items. I knew that creating more waste was wrong when it’s so easy to just buy apples and slice them myself. The truth is that if you have executive dysfunction because of or any other reason, it’s just as ok to buy convenience foods as it is when you’re not physically capable of standing to slice an apple. Last week, I ate apples every day because they’re already sliced so if I see them on the way to work, that’s ok! Yes, they’re more expensive this way but it makes more sense to pay a little more for something I’ll eat than less for something I’ll forget and have to compost 🤷🏻♀️
