Today, we were gifted one of Betty Woods’ legendary coconut cakes—and I do mean legendary. In her hometown of Yazoo City, this cake is practically famous, and now I understand why. It’s not just scrumptious… it’s made with love, southern charm, and that special Betty magic.

Working with our residents brings so many joyful surprises, and today’s treat is just one more reason we truly love what we do.

🌺 Aloha from The Waterford! 🌺
Our Community Health Fair was a vibrant success—kicking off at 10AM with a tropical luau theme that brought island vibes to our community! With a variety of engaging booths, our residents and guests learned about everything from healthcare services to legal and financial planning, legacy preparation, and so much more.

🌴 After filling our minds, we filled our bellies with an island-inspired feast! A traditional whole roasted pig stole the show, accompanied by juicy chicken skewers, seasoned rice, garden-fresh veggies, and sweet Hawaiian rolls.

🍦 And just when we thought it couldn’t get sweeter—our friends from ScoopDeeDoo rolled in with the ice cream truck for a scoop of happiness!

🎶💃🏻To cap it all off, the talented ladies of Light of Entertainment wowed us with their new “Hollywood” show. What a performance!

💖 Huge thanks to everyone who helped make this day so special. We’re grateful for our residents, guests, and the amazing community partners who made today unforgettable.

Anna often dreamed of returning to her homeland of Germany. The Good Tree team saw how deeply she was connected to her German roots, so they decided to bring a piece of Germany to her. They prepared goulash and other traditional German dishes, creating a festive atmosphere filled with warmth and nostalgia. Residents and staff gathered to celebrate Anna’s heritage, sharing stories and learning more about German customs.

It was a big week for Billy, a resident of The Waterford at Mesquite. In honor of Father’s Day, the local mayor visited the community to recognize Billy as the oldest father living in Mesquite! Just a few days later, Billy celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends. The celebration was filled with laughter and plenty of birthday cake. Billy’s milestone serves as an inspiration to everyone in the community.

John, a Magnolia Trails resident at Georgetowne Place, grew up on a farm and spent his childhood driving tractors and milking cows. The Waterford at Round Rock worked with resident Becky’s daughter to give her the surprise of a lifetime by restoring their family car, a 1965 Ford Mustang. Filled with memories of family vacations and drives with her late husband, Becky’s eyes filled with tears. The moment she saw the fully restored Mustang, she was overcome with emotion and gratitude. We recently gathered for a delightful Mother’s Day Tea Party in honor of the wonderful mothers in our community. It was a beautiful afternoon filled with laughter, love, and plenty of delicious treats!

Our residents enjoyed an elegant spread of both sweet and savory bites, including cucumber sandwiches, pimento cheese toast points, pinwheels, tea cakes, macarons, cheesecake bites, and more. To complement the feast, we sipped on a variety of flavored teas, making the occasion even more special.
