🚨 UPDATE: NAEMT applauds the decision to reverse the SAMHSA program funding terminations. These programs save lives and help EMTs and paramedics be their best. We are grateful to the Administration and Members of Congress who were instrumental in reversing this critical decision.

EMS is underfunded and will only thrive with investment and innovation. NAEMT will continue working with policymakers in Washington, DC on innovative ideas to improve EMS and protect the health and safety of communities in the most efficient way possible.

In our latest feature, Justin Preddy explores the friction between "life experience" and "education," and the Impostor Syndrome haunting young chiefs. "Mixing generations is a great way to diversify... but how would you expect the younger perspectives if they never had the chance to help make the change?"

The data is clear: Prehospital blood saves lives. πŸ©ΈπŸ“‰ New resources from NHTSA's Office of EMS highlight the critical role of EMS in post-crash care. Most notably, administering blood in the field to motor vehicle crash victims may reduce mortality by 37%.

As we advocate for better resources and researchβ€”like the current TRB funding opportunity for hemorrhage managementβ€”tools like these are vital for educating stakeholders and the public.

NAEMT is proud to offer Recert’s CAPCE-accredited programs to help practitioners stay at the top of their game with the latest clinical standards.

Evidence-based medicine uses the scientific method to improve health care decisions. Despite its usage in health care, it is relatively new to prehospital care. Is it time for a change?
