🎉 A Huge Milestone at Blue Sky – Timrick Plaza! 🎉

Yesterday we celebrated something incredibly special — our very first official graduate from services here at our Timrick Plaza branch! 🌟 Although our other Blue Sky locations have seen many graduates over the years, this one hits a little different… because we’ve watched this kiddo grow with us from the very beginning at Timrick.

Graduations like this remind us of why we do what we do — not just for big milestones, but for every single moment of growth along the way. 💙 Every client who walks through our doors is working toward their own goals, and each step forward is worth celebrating.

October is AAC Awareness Month!

At Blue Sky, many of our clients communicate using alternative and augmentative methods; some of the high tech AAC programs can be expensive, but are currently on sale!

Our goal is support and honor communicate in any method that meets a child's needs, and we are grateful for all providers that help support AAC integration into children's lives.

Behavior is a form of communication. When we look beyond the behavior itself, we can often identify the need it’s fulfilling whether it’s seeking attention or something preferred, or avoiding or getting away from something non-preferred. Understanding the function or the "why" of behavior is the first step in supporting our children effectively. By identifying these underlying reasons, we can implement strategies that help children learn more appropriate ways to communicate their needs.
