Yesterday, West Bergen staff members held their 1st annual Holiday Cookie Exchange. Cookies of all flavors were enjoyed along with milk (of course πŸ˜‹) and apple cider. Prizes were given for "most delicious" and "most festive" cookies.

It was a great way for staff to get together for a sweet treat and celebrate the holidays. Santa even stopped in to bring some cheer! πŸ’šπŸͺπŸ₯›

Ho ho ho! Yesterday was our annual Holiday celebration complete with a visit from Santa himself.
Volunteers, Sue, Susan, Kelli, Katie and Ginny prepared a delicious lunch followed by a beautiful cake for dessert.
Before Santa met with each client in our Adult Day Treatment Program, he and Mrs. Claus were presented with a very special gift. A self portrait created by several dots of paint. This project took about 4 weeks to make and each client took part in the creative process.

Thank you Mary and Wayne for making spirits bright this holiday season.

We are also so grateful to all of the volunteers and donors who made this event possible. Especially, The Junior League of Bergen County for providing ALL of the gifts for Santa to hand out.

Thank you everyone!

If you are shopping this weekend, please consider a gift for clients in our Residential Program. Most gifts are inexpensive and easy to find.

The holiday season is a time for joy, togetherness, and giving. For many of our group home residents and independent consumers at West Bergen, this can be a difficult time. Unlike others who celebrate with their families, West Bergen is the closest family they have. This year, we want to ensure that the holidays are extra special for every individual in our care.

How You Can Help?

To make this season memorable, we're reaching out to our community for support. Each of our residents has expressed a desire for a specific gift. By fulfilling these wishes, you can help bring joy and a sense of belonging to those who might otherwise feel isolated during this festive time.

1. Make a monetary donation. Even a donation of $25 can help provide a gift for a resident/client or help offset the costs of the holiday celebration. Click https://secure.qgiv.com/for/holidaygiftdrive2025 to make a donation.

2. Make a wish come true by purchasing an item from the holiday wish list. https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C084EAAA92AA6FDCE9-60315381-2025 #/

3. Volunteer - Volunteers are needed to shop, wrap or prepare a dish for our Residential Group Homes. Click here for more info https://www.signupgenius.com/index.cfm?go=c.SignUpSearch&eid=08C6CAD9FACCFB6504&cs=09CBBAD98FBC8B6C7B7E64745BB49BCBFDC2&sortby=l.title

Twenty years ago this month, West Bergen experienced a pivotal moment. Michael Tozzoli, then serving as the Administrative Director, was appointed as the Chief Executive Officer. This change in leadership marked the beginning of a transformative era for West Bergen.

The positive impact of Michael's leadership is evident in every aspect of West Bergen's operations. His vision and dedication have not only guided the organization through two decades of change, but have also ensured that West Bergen remains a trusted and vital resource for the community. As West Bergen looks to the future, it does so with a strong foundation built on Michael’s legacy of excellence and compassion.

Congratulations Michael! It is a pleasure to be on your team!

We will be celebrating this milestone in the Spring. Details to follow in the New Year. We hope to see you there!

Happy (early) Thanksgiving! West Bergen staff and clients in our Adult Day Treatment Program were treated to a delicious Thanksgiving meal catered by Chestnut Deli & Catering. This 20+ year tradition is something we all look forward to and would not be possible without the generosity of a local donor.

Thank you all for this special day!
