At our first meeting of the academic year, the OB Society passed an important amendment to our Bylaws. We have added a new category of membership, the affiliate member. An affiliate member is a non-physician medical professional working in the field of obstetrics and gynecology, and they will pay 50% of the current year’s annual dues. So talk to your NP’s, PA’s, CNM’s and your nurses and MA’s and get them to be members of the OB Society! We will have info out soon as to the process to become an affiliate member.

The OB Society opened its first meeting of the 2019-2020 academic year on Thursday with a very provocative and thought provoking lecture. Dr. L. Lewis Wall spoke on the legacy of J. Marion Sims, M.D. putting perspective on historical understanding and medical ethics of the time and now. To say it engendered lively discussion is a bit of an understatement! And it’s part of what the OB Society is about. We look forward to seeing you at our meetings to hear more excellent lectures featured in President Dr. Don DeBrakeleer’s program for the year.

We will see you at our next meeting on Thursday, November 14, 2019, when our speaker will be Nazema Siddiqui, M.D. speaking on Overactive Bladder.
