POV: You swear you were thriving last week⌠and now you want to cancel your life.
If your luteal phase makes you feel like a different person, youâre not crazy â youâre cyclical.
Right after ovulation, progesterone rises and your nervous system gets more sensitive. Your body shifts into âprotect and prepareâ mode. You need more rest, more boundaries, more nourishment.
But most of us keep pushing like itâs ovulation season forever. More output. More socializing. More caffeine. Less sleep.
In Ayurveda â your inner air + fire (vata + pitta) can spike if youâve been overdoing it. Thatâs when you feel anxious, bloated, irritated, overstimulated, or emotionally raw.
And hereâs the deeper layer:
Luteal is your truth-telling phase. It highlights where youâre out of alignment with your purpose (your dharma). What youâve been tolerating suddenly feels loud. What youâve been suppressing demands attention.
Itâs not that youâre unrecognizable.
Itâs that your body stops buffering what isnât working.
When you learn to honor this phase instead of fight it, PMS softens. Your mood stabilizes. Your cycle becomes information â not sabotage.
