Do you trust yourself? Do you trust in the unknown? Do you trust others? Do you trust the Supreme? On the path of yoga, we embrace trust with a lens of love. All of us have shortcomings, this is part of the human experience. Sometimes we aren't operating at our best but still hold ourselves to high standards. We are often very critical of ourselves and can even create beliefs that we aren't qualified or worthy.

Love heals our feelings of inadequacy. Love brings us out of the worrying mind and into the peaceful heart. Love allows us to develop more trust because we know that we are 'whole' regardless of the outcome of any situation.

To develop more love, we need compassion.

On the path of yoga we begin to see that we often times put our trust in the wrong places. We waste it on material things that cause extra stress. When you put your trust on Love then life begins to change.

I know from my experience that trust grows with practice and purification. We have to purify our mind and body and practice living a life that is connected to who we really are. Many of you have watched our journey and I can tell you that is isn't easy, but being with other souls who are also walking this path makes it possible. This is why we share the Compassion Challenge. We need to be in community to grow in love and develop more trust.

Happy Winter Solstice! During this 'dark' time of year it is super important to take time to move your body and cultivate love in your heart. When you connect to the energy you have within, then you can radiate it out into the world. The short days make our inner light seem even brighter. Bhakti is a type of yoga. Yoga, a sanskrit word, means union. In the west, we know yoga as a stretching, movement, and exercise class with some "spiritual" themes sometimes mixed in. After these classes, our bodies often feel relaxed and sometimes our minds even feel temporary moments of peace. The practice of Bhakti yoga goes beyond the body to re-connect with the peaceful, happy, loving place that resides within you. This place inside you is eternal (always present) and once you find it, you can return to it and feel more peaceful, happy and loving, anytime, anywhere, in any situation.

Bhakti is all about relationship, specifically loving relationship. Through Bhakti we learn how to be in a loving relationship with our self and others around us. The lessons of Bhakti are applicable for use in everyday life and the practices are so approachable that anyone can do them (literally anyone...no experience or qualifications necessary).

This winter we are offering private yoga retreats that are created for you and a friend.
