“The magic you’re looking for, is in the work you aren’t doing.”

A quote that lately has been burning a hole in my pocket.
Because showing up every day just isn’t enough.
Consistency isn’t enough.
Building a relationship isn’t enough.
Time off isn’t enough.
Drills aren’t enough.
Coaching isn’t enough.
Remembering why you love what you do isn’t enough.
Mental fortitude isn’t enough.
Feel isnt enough.

I feel like at some point in the horse game or in anything really… we all get stuck. Whether we are :
Going through horse after horse looking for the perfect fit.
Not making any progress on a horse we have ridden for months if not years.
Saying we just aren’t competitive anymore
because we don’t care .
We’re afraid.
We’re tired.
We have full time jobs and horses are a hobby.
We ride horses professionally and when you ride 10 a day you can’t really connect with 1.
. I mean the list goes on right?
Sometimes we have to try something new. Ask for help. Spend more time.
It’s hard. Like really hard. We want to feel inspired again. But how do we get there?

Tonight I ran short on time to ride, got home late, donkey got out. I mean life right.
I almost just fed and called it a day- But instead i thought about that dang quote. So I hopped on ba****ck, dinked around without a bridle , layed across my horses back and told her about my day. Just spent time. Nothing special right. But it felt different. We were connected. She was happy. I was happy. We were in the moment.
And now I feel inspired. I think sometimes with everything in life we need to remember our why so we can tackle all the hard stuff that isn’t as fun to do.
So I hope this finds someone who’s looking for what’s missing and helps them remember why they are doing what they are doing. So the hard stuff gets a little easier. And you find your magic again 💖

Always love starting the day working with a racehorse who has moved onto their 2nd career! 💖 Bodywork of any kind is more that just adjusting the horses body. It’s partnering with the rider to equip them with techniques and movement methods that enhance the horses ability to perform at the next level! So greatful for horse owners that out the horse first!

We have hit a Milestone!! With a lot of time and patience and of course an incredible Horseshoer we got Velvet to face one of her biggest fears and get trimmed today ☺️☺️☺️. Big day for the big bay mare 💖. Thank you Joe Jensen for putting in the time to help this girl! Wholistic healing at its best 🙂

The time, effort, frustration, and love it takes to get one started , exposed, hauled, and one day finished while remembering you are the one setting up that horses expectation and willingness to partner with humans is extraordinary. Everytime they don’t spook at a tractor or flag, every time they jump right in the trailer, Everytime they walk in the arena ready to do their job and keep you safe is owed to hours and hours of consistency. No wonder finished horses cost what they cost 😳.
So this post is dedicated to all my bound and determined horse girls, trainers, and coaches. Stay with it! Everything your doing pays off! You just don’t know untill you know!
And of course to my Gracie girl💖 the horse who fills my heart with so much joy and passion with the occasional buck 🤣💜
