Dear Reiki Family,

It has been some time since I posted and I wanted to reassure you I haven’t disappeared. It has been almost 6 months since Lourdes passed and I know that many of you still hold her close to your hearts and in your memories. We are being mindful of family and we are planning a memorial. Probate continues to be slow.

In my new role as Head of Lineage/Lineage Bearer, my priority over the last few months has been to ensure that all of Lourdes’ students could continue with their studies. I have worked with most of those students now and I am very honoured to be involved in their Reiki journey and with all of you. It has also felt very important to sit with the Reiki energy and adjust to the shift and changes it has brought to each of us. Keep an eye out for some community meetings coming up for those of you who would like to meet me. Will get dates and a sign up here asap.

I will be running a Reiki 1, and Reiki 2 in Manchester UK in June and an online Walking the Dead class in June and will restart the meet ups for Walking the Dead following this class. When I have details for Walking the Dead I will post details here for sign-ups.

In the next month or so I will be launching a Reiki Master Graduate meet up for those who have completed the Reiki Master programme. This online community will have a monthly meet up that may include meditations, sharing and practicing experiences and techniques and also a space to gain wisdom from each other within our Reiki practice.

I am also working with several of you to develop an online chat community and I am currently investigating ways to embed this within my website. More details to come soon.

I know many of you have good days and bad days when thinking of Lourdes. We all have those day, I find it comforting to know that she lives on in our hands as we practice Reiki and within this fabulous Reiki family.

Dr Duncan Cross named Lineage Bearer/Successor to Dr Lourdes Gray, President of The John Harvey Gray Center for Reiki Healing LLC

As we are all coming to terms with the sudden passing of Lourdes Gray many are left wondering how her and John’s legacy will continue. Joseph Cervantes, Lourdes' son, has announced that it was his mother’s intent to name Duncan Cross as the next in line to carry on the lineage of the John Harvey Gray Center for Reiki Healing LLC.

In preparation for this honor Lourdes invited Duncan to undertake a specialized 3 year RMT training. By completing the training Duncan was licensed by the Center for the purpose of carrying the lineage forward.
Duncan has been practicing Reiki since 1998, and teaching Reiki since 2000. He was initiated into Reiki through a lineage that trained with Beth Gray and in recent years retrained with Lourdes as a 6th generation Reiki Master Teacher in the John Harvey Gray Lineage.

In addition to being a highly trained Reiki Master and gifted teacher, Duncan's accomplishments are many. To name just a few, Duncan served as a Director of the UK Reiki Federation. He is a Professor of Education, UK National Teaching Fellow, Principal Fellow of Higher Education, and the recipient of several national (UK) teaching awards. He has also been published in several Reiki journals, and a presenter at Reiki conferences and festivals.

Rest assured, Lourdes has left us in good and capable hands.

Dear Reiki Family,

The last three weeks have felt very surreal, but we wanted to update you on a few things.

There was private service for Lourdes with immediate family only. Many of you were concerned about Ollie, she was also at the private service, and is currently with her sitter whilst the family make some decisions. There will be an in-person memorial for Lourdes in Spring/Summer 2026 to ensure that we are following her wishes. More details will come in January 2026

Duncan now thinks he has caught up with all assignments/quizzes submitted. Dear Reiki family,

The last week has been very surreal and incredibly sad for the JHG Reiki community. We have held several support sessions and there will be more in the coming weeks. We will continue to support Lourdes' son and family and share information when they are ready and it is available.

Last week in one of the sessions we did a gratitude meditation that I have adapted for Reiki practitioners. I was asked to record the meditation and it seems appropriate to show our gratitude to Lourdes on Thanksgiving. The video is available at the following youtube link. https://youtu.be/tpsBSper1A4

It starts with a demo, then takes you through the meditation and ends with words of gratitude and thanks to Lourdes.

Following a recent car accident, Lourdes Gray was cared for in ICU, surrounded by the love and healing thoughts and energy of our community. Despite the best efforts and the collective Reiki sent, Lourdes Gray has transitioned from this life to be with her beloved John.

We understand that this news will bring great sorrow to many. Lourdes’ dedication, wisdom, and compassion have touched countless lives, and her legacy will continue to inspire us all. At this time, we ask for your continued Reiki and prayers for Lourdes and her loved ones.

Further details and arrangements will be shared as they become available, and we will be working with the family to organise suitable celebrations of her life.
