In 1968, he continued his commitment to service by joining the Georgia State Patrol. Over a 27-year career, Lamar worked tirelessly to protect his community before retiring in 1995.
Lamar and his wife are proud parents of two sons. One served in the Marines and later retired from the Georgia State Patrol, while the other enjoyed a long career with North Georgia Electric.
