🎉 Congratulations, Eliana! 🎉

We’re proud to celebrate Eliana, our incredible Client Benefits & Insurance Coordinator, for successfully passing her RBT exam!

Eliana originally joined us with the goal of working directly as an RBT, and while her role has evolved, the impact she makes every day is undeniable. Even while working as our Client Benefits & Insurance Coordinator, she chose to take her RBT exam because she believes in understanding the work from every angle. She wanted firsthand knowledge of the role, the responsibilities, and the clinical standards our RBTs are held to so she could better support both our team and the families we serve. That commitment speaks volumes about her integrity, work ethic, and dedication to doing things the right way.

Today, Eliana plays a critical role behind the scenes, guiding families through our intake process, ensuring benefits and insurance details are accurate, and helping families get everything in order to start services smoothly. Her work is absolutely essential. She has an amazing heart and is deeply committed to making sure every family’s experience is supportive, organized, and seamless from the very beginning.

We are so grateful to have her on our team and proud of all she has accomplished. 💙👏

Choosing Health Insurance After an Autism Diagnosis

What Families Need to Know When ABA Is Recommended:

Receiving an autism diagnosis often comes with a recommendation for Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) therapy. One of the most important next steps is choosing (or understanding) your child’s health insurance coverage. Here are a few key things to know that can make a big difference financially and logistically.

🟦 Medicaid Coverage

If your child has Texas Medicaid (as a primary or secondary insurance):
• ✅ ABA is a covered service
• ✅ Families are not responsible for copays, coinsurance, or deductibles
• This applies whether Medicaid is primary or secondary

Medicaid coverage can significantly reduce or eliminate out-of-pocket costs for ABA services.

🟨 CHIP Coverage

If your child has Texas CHIP:
• ❌ ABA therapy is not a covered service under CHIP
• CHIP cannot pay for ABA as primary or secondary insurance

If your child is currently on CHIP, it may be worth exploring whether they could qualify for Medicaid instead, especially if ABA has been recommended.

🟩 Choosing a Private Insurance Plan

If you are selecting or changing a private/commercial insurance plan, here’s what to look for:
• 🔎 Confirm ABA is a covered benefit
• 💰 Pay close attention to the out-of-pocket (OOP) maximum
• 📉 A lower OOP maximum is often more important than a low copay

Why?
ABA services are intensive, and many families meet their annual OOP maximum relatively early in the year. Once that happens, insurance typically covers services at 100% for the remainder of the plan year.

We often work with families by offering payment plans when appropriate, knowing that the OOP maximum will likely be met.

⚖️ Finding the Right Balance

When comparing plans, try to balance:
• Monthly premium
• Monthly payment toward OOP maximum
• Total annual cost

The “cheapest” plan month-to-month is not always the most affordable plan overall when ABA services are involved.

🎄✨ Transformative ABA at A Very Special Christmas! ✨🎄

Transformative ABA had such a wonderful time hosting sensory-friendly Christmas games at A Very Special Christmas this weekend! ❤️💚

Our team loved creating fun, accessible games for children of all ages and seeing the smiles made it even better. From Santa Hat Ring Toss, Pin the Star on the Tree, Candy Cane Fishing, Snowman Ball Toss, and Face Painting, the kids brought so much joy and energy to every game. 🎁❄️

We are incredibly grateful to be part of a community that values inclusion, connection, and holiday cheer for families with children and adults with special needs. Thank you to all the families who stopped by, played games with us, and made the day magical. 💛

A huge thank-you to the event organizers, volunteers, and fellow sponsors for creating such a special day for Carrizo Springs. We are honored to support and celebrate with our neighboring community. 🎅🌟

Our foundation. Bianca is the steady presence and calm strength that keeps our clinic running day after day. She holds the moving pieces together, supports our families and staff, and brings order to the chaos with kindness, patience, and grace. She is the backbone of our clinic, and we are beyond grateful for the love and commitment she pours into everything she does.

Our guide. As our trainer and a natural leader, Karen pours her experience, compassion, and high standards into every person she mentors. She sees potential in others, lifts them up, and leads with both knowledge and heart. Our team is stronger, more confident, and more capable because of her. She truly helps shape the future of Transformative ABA every single day.

✨ Amanda Alvarez
Our connection to our community. Amanda shines in the community and brings our mission beyond our walls. Through her outreach and dedication, she recently secured us a loaner Chevy truck from the local dealership that will help us represent our clinic with pride in this upcoming parade. She’s always thinking of ways to get our name out there and is a fearless communicator. She builds bridges, spreads joy, and ensures that families know who we are and what we stand for.
