🥎 A Game of Hope & Healing in Lower Township 💙
In early October at Mulligan Field, something truly special happened. The Recovery Softball Team, made up of individuals in recovery from substance use disorders, took the field against the Lower Township Police Department—not just for a game, but for a powerful moment of connection, resilience, and community healing. Organized by Jennifer Thierjung from Cooper Cape Recovery Center and Christina Esterly from Cooperative Care, this event was all about breaking stigma, building bridges, and celebrating recovery. “This was more than softball—it was a message: recovery is real, and it’s thriving,” said Jennifer. Christina added, “Events like this humanize recovery. They show the strength, joy, and community that come with healing.”
Spectators cheered on both teams, witnessing firsthand the courage of those in recovery and the commitment of local law enforcement to support and understand their journey.
