A special moment celebrating art, history, and community!
Jo White, who volunteered as a docent at the Albuquerque Museum for over 21 years, shared her passion for the arts with us in a meaningful way. She proudly posed in front of a painting by one of her favorite artists, Jaune Quick-to-See Smith, alongside an exhibit featuring a bathing suit she donated herself. Her turquoise-accented name tag represents the many years she dedicated to inspiring others through art - a true testament to a life enriched by creativity and connection.

We had an unexpected and delightful surprise when a hot air balloon landed right in our parking lot! With the Balloon Fiesta kicking off this week, it was such a treat to get an early, up-close look at the magic. Meet Dionne, our Executive Assistant and Manager of Administrative Services! For the past five years, she’s been keeping the front desk—the main hub of our community—running smoothly, helping residents, supporting staff, and managing communications. 🏡

Her favorite part of the job? “Being with the residents—it’s the most rewarding part of my day.”

Meet Valerie, our Resident Services Coordinator! For the past two years, she’s been a driving force in our community, coordinating all activities and events for residents. 🗓️ You can tell how creative she is—just look at her office!

Her favorite part of the job? “The residents—I just love making them happy.” She works to make every event feel special, giving residents the experience of going out and enjoying something fun.

Outside of work, she enjoys sewing, painting, and creating all kinds of projects. She describes her role here as not just a job, but a fun, truly rewarding experience. For anyone thinking about joining our team, she says, “You fall in love with these people. It’s a very fulfilling job.”

Our Story

The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho opened as one of the nation’s first Life Plan Retirement Community’s in April 2016. As Life Plan Community, the Neighborhood is designed to offer more than one level of care on a single campus. We offer a range of housing, from seniors who want an increased sense of community and connection. Living at the Neighborhood also means living where extra support is available at the same location – should you ever need it. Supportive Care at The Neighborhood is part of The Neighborhood in Rio Rancho which provides all levels of care on-site so the changing needs residents are met without having to relocate. Residents enjoy peace of mind because they receive lifetime housing, have predictable health care costs, and lifetime financial protection. Our community focuses on active lifestyles and opportunities for seniors to get involved, be a part of their neighborhood, and to give back, both to The Neighborhood and to Rio Rancho as a whole.
