Despite the fact that nurturing your physical body is an absolute necessity, many of us - the herbalism community included - are not comfortably familiar with some basic components of nutrition. This course is intended to provide a solid nutritional base of knowledge for anyone who is interested in understanding what the nutritional building blocks are, the physiological mechanisms of nutrition, and why this is important when considering a holistic health approach.
This first introductory class sets the palate for the course by introducing some key ideas that will be expanded upon, as well as highlighting some practical nutrition-minded advice. In this class, the following topics came up:
The importance of nutrition in Herbalism
Shame and stigma surrounding dietary choices
Diets

The meaning of โdietโ
Constitution
Energetics
Supplements
Gardening
Eating seasonally
Variety & diversity in the diet
