Hometown Pharmacy

Hometown Pharmacy Rio Pharmacy opened it's doors in December, 2004 and prides itself on Hometown service, quality gifts, home decor and women's apparel and accessories.

Rio Pharmacy Gift Department opened its doors on December 4th, 2004. A month later, on January 31st, 2005, the Pharmacy department opened three days a week. Due to the tremendous support received from the community, in July 2005, the pharmacy extended its hours to five days a week. Rio Pharmacy is actively involved in the community and sponsors many activities including the Health Fair, Wellness W

alk, High School Football and Basketball programs, the Cabaret and has actively participated in fundraising through the P.A.C.E. organization in efforts to improve the community’s athletic programs. Rio Pharmacy has also made annual monetary donations to the local fire departments and food pantries. Supporting local business is important to Rio pharmacy. Consequently, advertising is done weekly in the Rio Shopper and St. Joseph’s Church program and day to day needs are done by local businesses whenever possible. Rio Pharmacy is a business with remarkable hometown values and service. This is clearly witnessed in its devotion to its customers. Daily, the gift department and pharmacy go above and beyond to assist patrons in whichever way they can. To further this caring approach, the pharmacy has recently added clinical features to its menu of services. Rio pharmacy now offers annual influenza immunizations, free Medicare Part D assistance, medication reviews designed to lower annual drug costs, skin analysis consultations, and bone mineral density screenings. Rio Pharmacy is working to add even more clinical services in the near future. The owners of Rio Pharmacy have worked hard to promote business in the community as well as bring new business to town. Thank you for your support!

Rio Hometown Pharmacy

Hi my name is Zach. I’ve been a pharmacist in Rio since I graduated from UW-Madison in May of 2018. I’m originally from Cudahy, WI, but have been in the Madison area since 2011. I have really enjoyed getting to know everyone in Rio over the last year, and I love being able to work with customers to manage their medications and ensure their treatment is safe and effective. When I’m not at the pharmacy I enjoy running, playing piano, going to concerts, and hanging out with my friends and family. I also consider myself the Milwaukee Bucks' #1 fan and am excited to watch them on their way to winning an NBA championship! If we haven’t met yet, please come in and say Hi! - Zachary Plachinski, PharmD
