In Loving Memory of Laura Weber Eide

Our beloved mother, Laura, departed this world on February 17, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and laughter. To know Laura was to know her kind heart and her deep love of life. Whether she was capturing special moments through her camera lens or preparing her legendary holiday dinners, she had a unique gift for making everyone feel welcome and at home.

Her home was always filled with love, laughter, and the comforting aromas of meals shared and memories made. Laura’s greatest pride and joy were her children and grandchildren. She instilled in them the values of putting others before themselves and showing kindness — especially to those who may need it most.

Laura’s memory will be cherished and carried forward by her brothers Erik and Jan, her sons, Matthew and Kristopher (Jessie), and her grandchildren Reese (Zach and Everly) and Zack, who will forever hold her spirit in their hearts. She was preceded in death by her parents, Olav and Gloria Eide, and her daughter-in-law, Erica Erickson.

We invite you to join us in celebrating her life later this summer, with details to come. Please bring your favorite stories of Laura to share with family and friends as we gather to honor the beautiful life she lived.

Audrey E. Davis

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our mother, Audrey Ethel (Putzer) Davis. She passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Prairie Place in Ripon, WI.

Audrey was born on June 6, 1931 in Ripon, WI, daughter of Alois and Henrietta (Niemuth) Putzer. She attended Ripon schools and graduated in the class of 1949. She was united in marriage to Thomas E. Davis on October 20, 1951. Together they raised 10 wonderful children. They were devoted lifelong members of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church (formerly St. Patrick Catholic Church).

In her early years, Audrey worked at a candy store in Ripon and later as a secretary at Speed Queen, becoming a homemaker when the family continued to grow. In her later life, Audrey was employed at Triarch and Ripon College. She was a long-term volunteer at Ripon Memorial Hospital as well as Barlow Park Elementary School, where she would read to and help students. We have so many memories of the fun, sometimes chaotic, times and never-ending huge meals she needed to prepare for a family of 12. Even with everything she needed to do daily, she always made each one of us feel special each and every day, especially on our birthdays when she made beautiful homemade birthday cakes. To the end, she could name every one of her 25 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and remembered everything happening in their lives. Luckily, she was a Facebook and FaceTime user, which allowed her to stay in touch with all of them. She was a huge Packers fan and watched them every time they played and would be upset when they didn’t play well. Audrey was a talented sewer and knitter and made many quilts and Afghans for family and friends over the years. She spent hours in her garden and shared the many vegetables she grew with her family. Audrey was an avid reader her entire life with her family ensuring she always had books on hand.

Audrey is survived by her brother Thomas Putzer, her children, Tom Davis, Jr. (Debbie) of Ripon, WI; Bill (Kathy) Davis of Ripon, WI; Mary (Bob) Jackson of Hutchison, MN; Jane (Skip) Henricks of Oshkosh, WI; Cindy (Mike) Strey of Ripon, WI; Carol (Mike) Ehrenberg of Green Lake, WI; Judy (Mike) Gysbers of Fond du Lac WI; Connie (Matt) Carney of Ft. Atkinson, WI; and Andy (Amy) Davis of Oshkosh, WI; 25 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren; as well as many relatives and extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alois and Henrietta Putzer; her husband, Thomas E. Davis, Sr.; daughter, Peggy Yauck; a granddaughter, Nicole Bethke; and a grandson, Ryan Yauck; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William Guy and Lutzie Davis; brothers-in-law, Ray Davis, Bob Davis, and Jim Davis; and sisters-in-law, Eileen Davis, Elaine Davis, Arlene Davis and Lil Putzer.

Thank you to the staff at Prairie Place and Generations Hospice for the care and compassion they gave Audrey.

Visitation for Audrey will be held on Friday, February 27, 2026 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 228 E. Blossom St., Ripon, WI 54971.

Fred A. Tidemann

Fred Ardell Tidemann, age 73, of Rosendale, WI, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 31, 2026, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice, Wauwatosa, WI with his family by his side. He was a fighter, battling cancer with a tenacious spirit and an unwillingness to surrender his dignity to the end.

Fred’s love of dairy cattle was lifelong. He was born on April 22, 1952, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, son of Elroy and Dorothy (Peterson) Tidemann. Growing up on his family’s Holstein dairy farm in Baltic, South Dakota, Fred was heavily involved in both 4-H and FFA. Fred earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in dairy production at South Dakota State University. At SDSU, Fred was an active member/coach of the SDSU Dairy Cattle Judging team and a proud member of the FarmHouse fraternity. For 36 years, Fred worked as a dairy cattle geneticist for Alta Genetics until his retirement in 2019. He knew every country road and farm in his east central Wisconsin region. Fred loved applying his knowledge to help farm families succeed, almost as much as he loved hearing their stories.

Fred was a devoted husband and proud father. He married his best friend, Shelley, on November 30, 1985, in Pipestone, Minnesota – sharing 40 wonderful years of life and love together. After moving to Wisconsin in 1988 and the birth of his two sons, Krieg and Cole, Fred was involved with coaching several youth sports teams, shared his love of agriculture by guiding his kids’ dairy and sheep 4-H projects, and made sure they were not late for church on Sunday.

Second only to his family, Fred was a sports lover. His greatest pastime was golf, hitting the green from anywhere with his trusty 7 wood and connecting with his best friends. As a fan, Fred loved watching the SDSU Jackrabbits, Milwaukee Brewers, and Green Bay Packers – in that order – from the comfort of his favorite chair. Whether playing or watching, sports connected Fred to those that he loved, both family and friends.

In a world where so many like to talk, Fred – as a good Norwegian – loved to listen. His listening was a sign of both his deep care for others and his knack for finding the perfect moment to insert a joke. He had a true gift in striking up conversations with strangers anywhere he went and connecting with their stories.

Fred is survived by his wife, Michelle “Shelley” Tidemann; two sons, Krieg (Raghav) Tidemann and Cole (Mikayla) Tidemann; four siblings, Mary Ann Sittig, Melva Lee Hilmoe, Larry (Gail) Tidemann, and Duane Tidemann; mother-in-law, Jean Moeller; and in-laws, nieces, and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Elroy and Dorothy Tidemann; and his father-in-law, Gordon Moeller.

Visitation for Fred will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church, 430 W Griswold St, Ripon, WI 54971.

A memorial service for Fred will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Grace Lutheran Church in Ripon, with Rev. Clay R. Salmela officiating. You may view a livestream of the service at 11:00 am by visiting this link LIVESTREAM. Inurnment will be held at Pioneer Cemetery in Baltic, SD at a later date. Memorials in Fred’s name may be given to the South Dakota State University Foundation, 815 Medary Ave, Brookings, SD 57006, directed to either the Dairy Cattle Judging Team or FarmHouse fraternity, or to Grace Lutheran Church, 430 W Griswold St, Ripon, WI 54971.

James A. Walker

James Arthur Walker, 83, of Green Lake, WI, passed away peacefully on January 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy built with his own hands and carried in the hearts of those who loved him. Jim’s family was his greatest joy. As a talented craftsman, he poured his love into the spaces he created for them and the memories they built together. Jim had the tools and expertise to invent anything to fix a problem. His skill was matched only by the pride he took in creating homes, buildings and heirlooms that would last.

Born in Ripon, Wisconsin, on December 29, 1942, Jim spent his entire life on the shores of Big Green Lake. He felt most at home outdoors — whether deer hunting near Silver Creek, casting a line into Big Green Lake in search of white bass and that trophy lake trout, or simply breathing in the stillness of the woods. Nature was his refuge, his inspiration, and often his favorite place to share a laugh.

Jim’s happiest moments were often spent outdoors, whether watching the birds that visited his yard or tending the garden he cared for so deeply. A true renaissance man, he had many talents and interests. Jim had the tools and expertise to invent anything to fix a problem. He was an aviation enthusiast, a photographer with an eye for beautiful details, was fascinated by technology, and a lover of music. A gifted storyteller, Jim shared his tales with an ever‑present sense of humor that brightened every room.

He is survived by his wife of 42 years Pamela Walker; children, Heidi (Martin) Lindsay, Arlington Heights, IL, Kerry Jordan (Rick Artybridge), Pensacola, FL, and Jennifer (John) Schafer, Neenah, WI; grandchildren, Caroline (Nicholas) Petrakis, Jack Lindsay and William Lindsay; great-grandson, Ryder Petrakis; brothers, Dennis (the late Dusty) Walker and John (Peggy) Walker; and other family and friends who meant so much to Jim. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond E. and Helen L. Walker.

A visitation honoring Jim will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm at Butzin-Marchant Funeral Home, 515 Mayparty Dr, Ripon, WI, 54971. Friends and family are invited to gather, share memories, and celebrate a life lived with intention, creativity, and heart.

He will be remembered for his hands that built, his humor that lifted spirits, and the quiet, enduring beauty he brought into the world.

The family extends sincere thanks to Dr. Ford and the ER staff at Berlin Hospital for their dedication, and thoughtful care. The family also extends heartfelt gratitude to the 7th floor doctors and nurses at Thedacare Regional Medical Center for their excellent care, compassion, dignity and many kindnesses shown to Jim and his family during this difficult time.

Denis E. Floyd

Heaven has gained another angel … after a long illness Denis Floyd entered his heavenly home on January 22, 2026. Born on November 6, 1947, Denis was well-known and well-loved throughout the places he called home in the Fox Valley and Las Vegas.

Affectionately known as “Fonz” or “Cowboy,” Denis had a larger-than-life personality. His humor, infectious chuckle, and endless stories brought joy to everyone around him. He was a natural entertainer, always ready with a good joke or a tale that left his listeners smiling. He was a man of generous spirit and heart. For many years, Denis enjoyed supporting children’s causes especially those that collected gifts/bikes for less fortunate children.

Denis began his career in law enforcement with the Ripon Police Department, where he became the first Sergeant in the department’s history. Denis designed the department’s police patch and was recognized by President Nixon for his design. He later served as Chief of Police in Green Lake — a role that gave rise to one of his favorite stories: the time he and his team successfully fended off a biker gang that tried to storm into Green Lake after one of their members had been arrested. He proudly served 7 years with the National Guard which included being called in for the 1968 Milwaukee Riot.

After moving to Las Vegas, he worked security at the Flamingo Hilton and Dunes Oasis before his work at the Nevada Test Site as a Sensitive Assignment Specialist. After returning to Wisconsin, Denis continued his work in security for Kimberly-Clark. A lifelong learner, he pursued continuing education and earned numerous certifications in law enforcement, private security, and investigative studies throughout his lifetime.

Denis enjoyed his yearly visits with his lifelong friend Jeffery “Monty”, a friendship that began while working together at the Nevada Test Site. Denis and Monty were brothers in spirit. A devoted Green Bay Packers fan, Denis also enjoyed boating and fishing and had a deep appreciation for Country and Western music and Western movies.

Denis is survived by, his daughter, Stephanie (David Curtis) Floyd of Hickory, Kentucky, and son, Chad (Kyrsten) Floyd of Tucson, Arizona along with grandchildren Sage (fiancé Katie Wyble) Floyd and Kaya Floyd, in addition to his brother, Roger (Barb) Floyd. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence, Sr. and Berneice Floyd and siblings Eileen Floyd, Ruth Eiring, Ellen Sobralski, Lawrence, Jr. “Chuck” Floyd, Earl Floyd, Mary Jo Floyd, Jean (special brother-in-law Clarence “Salty”) Salzman, and Roy Floyd.

The family would like to give special thanks to Paula Jones for being Denis’ friend and helper once he returned to Ripon and to his personal care attendants, nurses, and doctors at Ascension Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital along with Compassus Hospice.

The family will hold a Celebration of Life at a later date.
