Well, Sun Pharmacy is OPEN today, Monday January 26 and we'll be here til 7pm. But don't come out unless it's absolutely necessary. Some roads are still sketchy and our town guys are still clearing the municipal parking lot. BE SAFE. As I read somewhere, if the road is shiny and black, it'll try to kill you!

Since it sounds like this "winter weather event" will be a multi-day deal, we're figuring that Monday morning the road crews will still be clearing highways, etc. Here at Sun Pharmacy, we're planning on being open by noon, but please don't come out unless you have to and give us a call before you start out to make sure we're here. We'll update to this page as the situation continues. But be sensible--don't overdo the snow removal if you're not in shape for it, and just stay home unless you've got an emergency to tend to.

Sun Pharmacy has received a recall notice for the MediHoney Wound and Burn Dressing products. Integra, the manufacturer, reports that they've identified some packaging failures which could lead to a breach in the sterile barrier. We haven't had this product since last April, but if you have any at home, don't use it as it may lead to skin reactions and worsening infections. Just throw it away.

About 8am today a local squirrel went to nut heaven after he shorted out the transformer that feeds Sun Pharmacy. We were without power til about 11am when the DPL technician reset things, installed a new fuse and got the squirrel co**se off the transformer. We're planning a brief celebration of life for Rocky when we get a little caught up here. Thank you for your patience.

Well, Sun Pharmacy had planned to have a lighted tractor in Saturday's parade (a vintage Minneapolis Moline, no less) with staffer and 4Her Danika driving, but there's something wrong with the brakes that can't be fixed before Saturday. So in the interest of safety, we'll postpone our entry until next year. But best wishes to the dozens of tractors and their drivers who'll be lighting up Rising Sun Saturday night!

It's that time of the year! Rising Sun's Community Carol Sing, a tradition for decades, is Tuesday December 2, 2025 at 7pm. Because of impending inclement weather, we'll be caroling indoors at the Janes Church sanctuary this year. Join us for old-fashioned fun, corny jokes, perhaps a certain special holiday visitor and the real message of Christmas. See you Tuesday night at Janes Church (213 N. Walnut St.)!
