Twelve Oaks Center for Healing and Sexual Wellness Open/affirming to all regardless of gender, gender identity or s*xual orientation. I take a s*x positive approach and am LGBTQIA+ Affirming.

Twelve Oaks' mission is to offer a healing place where you can connect with your authentic self, your partner(s), and move toward a happier, healthier, more grounded you. Here at Twelve Oaks, the power is in your hands, and I am merely a partner on your journey. Leading with curiosity and compassion as we build a foundational relationship of trust enables us to lean into the work with authenticity, for you to share your pain, your hopes, your fears, your erotic pleasures and fantasies, and most importantly for you to be welcomed for who you are. Available Mental Health Services include: Individual Therapy, Couples Therapy, S*x Therapy, and Brainspotting. Areas of healing work may include gender identity/expression, s*xual orientation, trauma, relationship conflicts/decisions, bringing joy to s*x and s*xuality, diverse relationship structures (ethical non-monogamy, open marriage, etc.), helping parents talk to their children about s*xuality, anxiety, shame and many others. So please, I invite you to check out my website at www.twelveoakswi.com and reach out when you are ready to learn more or begin your journey from where you are to where you want to be.

What a day! I spent today facilitating a full-day workshop on s*xuality across the lifespan with an amazing group of mental health professionals. Watching tables dive into vulnerable conversations, challenge assumptions, and practice new language together reminded me why this work matters so much. When we create courageous spaces to explore s*xuality as part of mental wellness, we open doors for the clients and communities we serve. Grateful to the RWC for hosting this important conversation and investing in comprehensive, inclusive care.

It was such a gift to be at an advanced Intimacy From The Inside Out training this week. To be in the presence of such incredible IFS trainers, staff, and therapists was truly healing and wholesome. Many aren't pictured, but all are with me and I with them as we continue doing such wonderful work with our clients in relationships.

A new study finds that limited s*x ed really limits our lives in a lot of ways. The vast majority of adults say that receiving more s*x ed would have positively impacted them, such as by supporting healthier s*xual and romantic relationships, feeling better about themselves, and having a better quality of life.

S*x education matters!

I was recently interviewed by CNN for an article about what it really means to have “good-enough s*x.” This is a concept that I think is really important to understand, but is frequently misconstrued.

“Good-enough s*x” is fundamentally about approaching s*x with realistic expectations. It’s about recognizing that it won’t always be perfect. Expecting perfection every time heaps a lot of pressure onto us, which can contribute to performance anxiety and, ultimately, can decrease s*xual satisfaction.

In other words, good-enough s*x isn’t about settling, having s*x that’s only OK, or not having your needs met. It’s simply a mindset that helps us to be more flexible and adaptable in the bedroom.

It has been a busy week, but I want to just give a shout out to the RWC and all of the providers who attended the CRU event! I enjoyed all of the conversations with providers during the Provider Fair and the courageous communication from attendees who attended my presentation - From Womb to Tomb: Why Talking About S*xuality is Important. Lots of great discussion about the importance of talking about s*xuality in community-based mental health.

In all of my sessions, I can honestly say that it wasn't until today that a session was interrupted by a bear. Fortunately, he decided to continue on after making his presence known. 😀
