North Coast Outfitters on deployment

We go places with soldiers around the world as part of peace keeping and force projection. Many times in places most of us don't want to go. Rugged and nearly indestructible we answer the call. Here our SR901 portable surgical table is deployed in a far forward location, providing immediate care to those at the tip of the spear.

The Heroic Parachuting Dogs of D-Day: On the eve of the Normandy invasion, three planes carrying the members of Britain's 13th Battalion took off for France. In addition to the 60 men aboard, each plane carried one dog. The story of how these paratrooping canines got there — and what happened next — is nothing short of remarkable.

In the case of the 13th Battalion, the dogs were trained to perform tasks such as locating mines, keeping watch, warning about enemies, and even serving as morale boosting mascots (indeed, dogs were also commissioned at US and British air bases for that sole purpose).

Gabe is the best!

WOO HOO!!!! The American Humane Association has announced that the 2014 hero dog awards is a go. Of course voting doesn't start until March, but I am assure you that I will find you the most perfect Military Working Dog to support this year to follow in the pawsteps of Gabe, Bino and Carlos. March 7th is when voting starts and we are super excited!!!!! We most likely this year will stick with just the Military category or a few others, but we will not endorse entire teams.
