Voices raised in Brentwood today for something simple and essential: fair funding for the people who support people with disabilities every day.

EEDA’s own Byron Preston, Manager of the Creative Arts Club, delivered a powerful speech at the podium, reminding everyone why this fight matters so much to the individuals we serve, their families, and the incredible Direct Support Professionals who make inclusion possible.

The crowd echoed one message again and again:
“Invest in me! Invest in us!”

We have so much gratitude for our EEDA Snowstorm Superstars ❄️🌟

This winter has tested us, and this week’s blizzard was the most significant one we’ve seen in years. Through snow, wind, early mornings, late nights, and icy roads, our DSPs and Program Supervisors showed up. Again and again.

They are essential workers in every sense of the word: keeping the people we support safe, calm, and cared for, no matter what the forecast says. Because of their dedication, we didn’t just make it through… we did it together.

To our Direct Support Professionals, Program Supervisors, and everyone who braved the storm: thank you for living The EEDA Way and putting our values into action. We are deeply grateful.

Out of an abundance of caution and in light of additional snow in the forecast, EEDA’s Day Service programs will operate on a two-hour delayed start tomorrow.

This adjustment will allow extra time for plowing and for roads and walkways to be safely cleared.
