Did you know that Spotify even has a curated playlist for singing in the shower? Yep, it's true. Get out the song book and pick a good one.

Singing in the shower can improve your immune system and your sleep cycle. Singing releases endorphins that improve your mood and make your body feel better. Singing can also be considered aerobic which delivers more oxygen to the brain and it increases overall circulation through the blood stream.

Day 25 is here and this if one of my favorites! Today's challenge is to Organize Your Home!

You may be familiar with some popular Home Organizer's like the Home Edit or Marie Kondo and their principles to home organization are really effective. Not only does an organized home look better but it actually has other health benefits:

- Organizing/decluttering can reduce stress and anxiety
- Saves you money - when you see what you have you won't overbuy
- Increases charitable giving - you can donate what you no longer need
- An uncluttered home leads to an uncluttered brain
- Teaches your kids/family good habits - they will learn by example

Home organization can also be overwhelming so start small and one room at a time! You will be amazed at how liberating it feels to let go of things that no longer serve and to organize the things that do.

2023 31-DAY WELLNESS CHALLENGE

Happy Saturday and welcome to Day 22 of our challenge. Today's challenge is to MAKE TIME FOR A SPIRITUAL MOMENT.

Spirituality is one of those things that many people are confused by. What does spirituality really mean? According to Wikipedia, spirituality is "the quality of being concerned with the human spirit or soul as opposed to material or physical things."

So, what's the benefit of adding and element of spirituality to our day or to our life? Spirituality encourages use to better understand ourselves, others, and the unknown. Spirituality can help us deal with stress by giving us a sense of peace, purpose, and even forgiveness.

During times of trial, stress or illness, a sense of spirituality can help to bring calm, peace and centeredness into an otherwise chaotic situation. Give yourself a little time today to practice whatever spirituality means to you.

2023 31-DAY WELLNESS CHALLENGE

Day 21 already and today's challenge is to CONNECT WITH SOMEONE you haven't spoken to for a while!

Do you have those friends who you may not speak with for a year or more and then, suddenly, you reconnect and it feels like no time has passed at all? I know that I sure do. Those kind of connections are amazing. We also may have people who are just acquaintances that we'd like to get to know better.

In any case, the challenge today is to pick up the phone or send an email and connect with someone you have not spoken to for a while. It may be a friend, a colleague or even a family member.

Recent medical studies have show that people who feel more connected to others have lower levels of anxiety and depression. Connection can also help us to have higher self-esteem, greater sense of empathy for others and it helps us to be more trusting of others. Additionally, this sense of connection has health benefits in that it can help to keep us from developing dementia later in life, has benefits for our heart health and overall well-being.

Today's challenge is part of a common theme for many of our daily challenges so far...daily exercise. More specifically, the Day 20 Challenge is to TAKE AN ONLINE FITNESS CLASS.

I'm sure many of you started doing this during COVID, however, online classes are a great option when you are short on time, when you are traveling or to try a new type of workout!

2023 31-DAY WELLNESS CHALLENGE

Day 19 of our Wellness Challenge and today's challenge is to BOOST YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM!

A strong immune system is your best defense against a variety of illness. There are a few simple things you can do to help boost your immune system and they will probably sound familiar:

1. Eat a healthy diet high in these vitamins, B6, C, E, Zinc and Magnesium

2. Get daily exercise

3. Drink plenty of water

4. Get enough good quality sleep

5. Reduce your stress levels

6. Get recommended vaccinations - this is a controversial discussion for many. Your immune system is smart, but vaccines train it to be even smarter — helping it learn how to recognize and fight off certain disease-causing illnesses. It's much safer for your immune system to learn via vaccination than through infection with these harmful germs, according to reports from Houston Methodist.
