Riverside Community Hospital hosted an engaging and educational robotics event in conjunction with the Riverside Unified School District. Forty-one high school students from Arlington High School had the unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge robotics technology up close and personal through live demonstrations, interactive experiences and a special presentation by Aaron Lee, D.O., general surgeon and robotic surgery chair at Riverside Community Hospital, and Valerie Galvan-Turner, MD, gynecologic oncology.

From lung navigation precision to advanced surgical systems, the event showcased advanced technology and systems to students interested in the engineering and healthcare fields. The event showed how technology is transforming patient care and outcomes. Students also had the opportunity to suggest names for all six of Riverside Community Hospital’s robotic platforms.

Riverside Community Hospital hosted more students in the afternoon from STEM, Poly, and North high schools with plans for additional sessions and opportunities with more students in November.

Over 90 colleagues and physicians at Riverside Community Hospital came together to fill 46 duffle bags with essential items for local foster youth. Each bag included toiletries, reusable water bottles, earbuds, journals, pillows, blankets, hoodies, and more—providing teens with the resources they need to travel with dignity.

Foster youth teens are often overlooked and experience frequent moves that can leave them feeling forgotten. By uniting as a community, we aim to show these teens they are seen, valued, and supported. In partnership with Foster Love, we purchased and filled the duffle bags, which were then donated to a local foster youth organization.

Special thank you to all the colleagues and physicians who contributed to this great cause. 💗

Riverside Community Hospital completed a rigorous, hands-on training for its Neonatal Transport Team, reinforcing its readiness to deliver lifesaving care to critically ill newborns across the Inland Empire. Twenty-four care givers participated in the two-day training that featured real-world transport simulations, mock code scenarios and expert-led instruction to advance life-saving skills in the most critical moments of a newborn’s care journey.

Neonatal transports take place during some of the most delicate and time-sensitive situations in a baby’s life. This training ensures the team is prepared to respond 24/7, with advanced protocols and annual competency checks that go beyond standard expectations. Each deployment immediately raises the level of care—bringing neonatal expertise right to the patient, when and where they need it, whether in the hospital or on the road.

Riverside Community Hospital’s neonatal transport team, made up of neonatologists, registered nurses and respiratory therapists, travels with a dedicated neonatal transport ambulance to transport the infant. This is not a standard ambulance. Operated in partnership with AMR, the specialized vehicle is dedicated to neonatal transport and remains on standby, allowing the hospital’s neonatal team to deploy immediately alongside ambulance personnel.

Amazing work, Neonatal Transport Team!

Colleagues at Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center, Sunrise Children's Hospital, Southern Hills Hospital and Medical Center, MountainView Hospital and our HCA Healthcare Far West Division offices proudly wore blue today to raise awareness and show support for National Child Abuse Prevention Day.

Every child deserves safety and care. Early recognition of warning signs can make a life-changing difference. If something seems off, speak up—your voice matters.
