Today is World Autism Awareness Day, and we want to take a moment to recognize and celebrate the incredible individuals and families in our practice who are part of the autism community.

We are continually inspired by the curiosity, brilliance, and authenticity our autistic patients bring into our office. One of our favorite moments was when a young patient asked one of our hygienists about the composition of prophy paste. She paused, thoughtfully considering the question, and when she didn’t have the exact answer, he kindly replied, “No worries, I’ll find out and let you know next time I see you.” And we believed him!

These moments remind us how important it is to listen, learn, and grow—and they keep us on our toes in the best way.
