Hello Riverside Families!

We want to reassure our patients and families that despite the recent changes to the CDC vaccination schedule for children, we will not be changing our current immunization practices. We will continue maintaining our current vaccine schedule in accordance with the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), as well as in accordance with Connecticut State and Public Health Department which determine vaccine requirements for schools.

Our team at Riverside Pediatrics understands the value of routine immunizations and the importance of following data based on science and evidence. We will continue to follow the best evidence-based practices and guidelines to protect your children, and we are entirely dedicated to keeping our community safe, healthy, and happy!

🌟 Welcome Carmen to the Riverside family as our newest Pediatric Nurse Practitioner!

Carmen brings over 14 years of experience in caring for little ones—from outpatient pediatrics to the PICU, and even the pediatric ED at Yale New Haven Children’s Hospital. 🩺

Carmen’s passion for helping children grow healthy and strong inspired her to earn her master’s in pediatric primary care… and we’re so lucky to have her on our team!

When she’s not caring for our kiddos, she’s busy chasing after her own two tiny adventurers 👶🏼👧🏼

We’re excited to welcome Dr. James to Riverside Pediatrics!

Originally from Wilmington, Delaware, Dr. James studied Biology and French before earning her medical degree at Sidney Kimmel Medical College in Philadelphia and completing her pediatric residency at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Board-certified in pediatrics, she has cared for children both in the U.S. and abroad — including in Guam, an experience that strengthened her love for serving diverse communities.

Dr. James looks forward to getting to know our families and providing warm, compassionate care. When she’s not in the clinic, you’ll likely find her exploring new places, pursuing adventurous cuisine, reading, or enjoying time with her family. 💜

💉 It’s flu shot time! Riverside Pediatrics has preservative-free flu vaccines available for kids ages 6 months–18 years, plus an egg-free option for children with allergies.

Flu clinics are available at BOTH Riverside & New Canaan. However, appointments are limited. Please call or book online to reserve your spot.
