Our community always shows up for each other in difficult moments.
After the Sweeney family lost their home and belongings in a fire, community members have organized ways to help. The City of Lander shared the information below for anyone who would like to support the family - through donations, meals, or words of encouragement.
If you’re able, please consider helping and keep the Sweeney family in your thoughts.
3/16/26 UPDATE:
The family is currently accepting clothing donations at 140 Dupont Drive.
Items Needed:
Girls’ jeans – size 14/16
Women’s jeans – sizes 2–4 and 8
Men's jeans - 30x30
Men’s and women’s long and short sleeve shirts and T-shirts (Women's small, Men's medium, Men's XL tall)
Women’s shoes – sizes 6.5–8
Men’s shoes – sizes 9–9.5
The family will sort through donations and keep what they are able to use. Any items they are unable to use will be passed along to others in need. Thank you.

The City of Lander has received the following information about ways community members can support the Sweeney Family after they lost their home and belongings in a fire on March 12, 2026. Community members are coordinating these efforts, and the City is sharing the information for anyone who would like to help.

Donations are currently being collected by their neighbors at 140 Dupont Drive.
Alternately, if you would like to mail a gift (such as a check or gift cards for Safeway, Walmart, Mr. D's, or other local stores, etc.) or a note of encouragement, you can send it to:
