Today we honor and remember Fritz Meyer of Dubois, Wyoming.

Fritz was truly part of the Davis Funeral Home family. He meant a great deal to each of us and became someone we always looked forward to seeing. Alongside his wife Connie, Fritz was a tremendous help at the Dubois Cemetery, giving his time, care, and heart to the community without ever asking for recognition.

Over the years, Fritz became a friend through many great visits—talking about hunting, fishing, trapping, and the simple but powerful values of being good people in a good town. He lived those values every day.

Fritz passed away on Tuesday, December 16, 2026—almost with his boots on, just about the way he would have wanted. He had spent a wonderful week hunting with friends and family, doing what he loved most. Just days before his passing, Fritz and Connie, along with their friend Woody, selflessly placed wreaths on the graves of our Veterans—one last act of service that speaks volumes about who he was.

If we could all be so fortunate to live a life we dream of and pay it forward the way Fritz did, the world would be a better place. We are truly blessed to have known such a man.

Celebrating a True Wyoming Cowboy 🤠

Saturday we had the honor of dressing up in true Wyoming Cowboy style for a very special funeral. The family asked everyone to come in their favorite work clothes, team apparel, or WY Cowboy attire — no black, no sadness.

That’s something we truly appreciate about what we do: no two funerals are the same. Each one is as unique as the life being celebrated.

We gathered to remember Geno Thompson, a man with a larger-than-life personality, an ornery smile, and a heart that made everyone feel like family. His funeral was held at the Riverton Livestock Auction Sale Barn — a place no one might expect for a funeral, yet it couldn’t have been more fitting for a man who dedicated his life to the cattle industry.
