Recent research indicates that among 12 cancers studied, melanoma shows the largest five-year survival disparity between white patients (94 percent) versus Hispanic patients (83 percent).

Melanoma also has the largest disparity of those 12 cancers in stage at diagnosis, with 78 percent of white people diagnosed at an early (localized) stage, versus just 65 percent of Hispanic patients.
