The Entry Supervisor isn’t a signature — it’s the person who decides whether everyone goes home.

We just published a new blog breaking down what this role really means and why it’s one of the most misunderstood positions in confined space work.

If you care about confined space safety, this one matters.

New Blog Post: LOTO — Verification Is Everyone’s Job

Most people think LOTO is just locks, tags, and paperwork. But inside a confined space, none of that matters if the energy isn’t actually controlled.

From the rescue side, we’ve seen what happens when something gets missed — even in well‑documented programs. We once had a fire suppression system activate inside a dryer, flooding the space. It wasn’t on the LOTO for years. Nobody caught it. Not even us. And that’s the point: even good people with good procedures can miss something.

That’s why every worker — entrants, supervisors, attendants, and rescue teams — has to walk the LOTO, understand it, and question it. Because the safest rescue is the one that never has to happen.

Most “rescue teams” show up to a job and wait for something to go wrong.

That’s not how we operate.

At Hux Safety Solutions, our entire mission is preventive rescue — eliminating the emergency before it ever has a chance to happen. That means real hazard assessment, real LOTO verification, real atmospheric monitoring, and a rescue plan that’s built before the first entrant even steps foot inside the space.

We just published a breakdown of the exact order of operations our teams use on every confined space job. If you want to see what separates a standby crew from a true preventive rescue team, this is it.

If even one worker goes home because of this approach, it’s worth it.

No food pics this time, but the menu speaks for itself.
Steamed oysters, jalapeño poppers, bacon‑wrapped stuffed pork loin with a honey glaze, cabbage steaks, and a blueberry cobbler that shut the night down. Michael Butts put on a clinic.

Big thanks as well to Caylin Burrell Fireline Fishing LLC — the guide we trust year after year. Stripers in the spring, red drum in the fall, ducks in the winter… he keeps us on the fish and in the birds every season.

Had an awesome time with the SERVPRO crew. Great hunt, great laughs, great people.
We’ll absolutely run it back next season.

Huge thank you to Michael and the team at HUX Safety Solutions for the duck hunt invite this past weekend! 🦆

Dylan, Stephen, and Gio had an amazing time with such a great group of guys. Lots of laughs, great memories, and an all-around awesome experience.

Same time, next season? 😉👀

Quick question for anyone scheduling construction crews — how are you actually doing it?

📞 Phone calls?
📲 Group texts?
🛠️ An app like TeamReach?
🗓️ Whiteboard and hope?

We’re using TeamReach right now—it gets the job done, but it’s not a perfect fit for how we operate in the field. I’m digging into what real crews and schedulers are using day-to-day. If you handle scheduling (or know someone who does), I’d love to hear what’s working—or what’s driving you nuts.

Let’s crowdsource some real-world scheduling wisdom. 👷‍♂️👷‍♀️

We were assigned as the rescue and attendant crew for a confined space welding job.
Halfway through, the scope quietly changed: → Weld inspection + Crack 1/2 spray → No permit update. No product disclosure.
Seconds after spraying, the meter hit 50% LEL—a confirmed explosive atmosphere. VOC level (calculated): 120ppm Entrant evacuated instantly.
The blog breaks down what went wrong—and why field workflows need stronger logic.
🧠 Includes a downloadable Toolbox Talk handout for crew safety briefing:

130 ppm VOCs. Zero alarms. One smart adjustment.

Sometimes the 4-gas stays silent—but your PID and ventilation strategy won’t.

On a recent tank entry, our monitor told us all was clear… until the PID picked up isopropylamine at 130 ppm. Turns out, our fan was pulling air from inside the tent, recirculating contaminated air instead of bringing in fresh.

We moved the fan intake outside, and within minutes, VOCs dropped to 30 ppm. No change in gear—just smarter airflow.

This lesson became a case study, a training handout, and a reminder:

> Good air isn’t lucky—it’s built.
