Sometimes a family member requires a licensed health professional who can attend to more personal needs. Elderly persons often require personal assistance but are embarrassed to permit family members to assist. We can help by arranging a Personal caregiver (Certified Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide) who can provide your loved one improved health and hygiene without sacrificing their dignity
or privacy. Personal care includes all the tasks of companion care PLUS: Assisting with "hands on" care including bathing, dressing, skin, mouth and hair care measuring temperature, pulse, respiration, blood pressure, intake and output of fluids (if necessary), assisting with prescribed range of motion (ROM) exercises, assisting with prescribed ice cap or collar, assisting with the use of ambulation devices (wheelchair, walker, etc.), assisting with the change of a colostomy bag, reinforcement of dressing, etc. Our personal care services give family members the opportunity to take time out of care giving responsibilities knowing their loved ones are being cared for by a trusted caregiver. Research confirms that patients have reduced recovery time, better outcomes, and are more at ease and secure, when healing takes place in the patient’s own home. Do you qualify? If you or a loved one needs assistance with: bathing, grooming, & dressing toileting, hygiene walking & mobility or eating, you may qualify for personal care service. Your primary care physician will need to make a referral for services. With your permission, a State Registered Nurse will come out to see you and complete an assessment. If you meet state requirements you will be able to receive personal care services. If you receive Medicaid, Medicaid will pay for up to 80 hours per month for an in-home caregiver to provide personal care services. Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparations are also covered by the personal care program. Respite care is often needed when the family is the primary caregiver. Even the most able and dedicated family caregivers need a break occasionally. Sometimes those breaks are simply needed to allow busy people options regarding life activities. Other times, the emotional and physical strain of daily life prevents the caregivers from providing the best quality of care. If your life is too busy, or even if you are just becoming exhausted, respite caregivers are available to assist with your needs. The goal of the respite care is to encourage family caregivers to take advantage of opportunities for rest and relaxation. Additionally, we encourage family caregivers to take opportunities to tend to other commitments or family needs. Like all of our valued client families, our respite clients receive the same high quality services and dedicated attention catered specifically to the individual family's needs. Various levels of respite services are available, ranging from a few hours to a few months.
