SUNDAY’s REFLECTION

Marvelous Faith

When [Jesus] was not far from the house, the centurion sent friends, saying to him, “Lord, do not trouble yourself, for I am not worthy to have you come under my roof. . . . But say the word, and let my servant be healed. . . .” When Jesus heard these things, he marveled at him, and turning to the crowd that followed him, said, “I tell you, not even in Israel have I found such faith.” - Luke 7:6-9 (CSB)

Can you imagine having faith that amazes Jesus?
I know that sounds crazy, but that’s exactly what happened with this centurion. The Bible says Jesus marveled at his faith. The God of the universe—the One who hung the stars and knows everything—was astonished by this man’s faith.

I want faith like that centurion’s. The kind that causes Jesus to say, “I haven’t seen this kind of faith anywhere!”

Here’s what I’ve learned: that kind of faith is risky. It means trusting God completely, even when circumstances don’t look good. It means believing He is who He says He is and will do what He said He’ll do, even when something takes longer than we like or happens differently than we imagined.
Trusting Jesus hasn’t always come easy for me. But I’m willing to risk it. What about you? Are you willing to risk believing more deeply than you ever have?

No matter what hasn’t gone according to plan in your life, God created you on purpose for a purpose. He positioned you right now to have faith that endures despite setbacks and challenges. Faith that causes Him to marvel.
