If there is chronic pain in your low back book a massage. Quite often, the pain isn't where the problem is unless you took a direct hit like in a slip/fall. It could be from the deep abdominals, the hamstrings, hip flexors, etc. The low back could be trying to correct an imbalance somewhere else.
