Tandem Behavioral Health started with a vision: to transform access to compassionate, evidence-based care for Virginians struggling with substance use and mental health challenges.

Our founder, Lakeisha Swain, built Tandem on the belief that quality treatment should be accessible, comprehensive, and grounded in clinical excellence.

Since 2021, we've grown from that vision into a licensed ASAM 2.5 provider offering everything from Crisis Stabilization and PHP/IOP programming to outpatient therapy and peer recovery support. We serve adults, children, couples, and groups across Virginia through both telehealth and our brick-and-mortar locations. We accept Medicaid and most major insurance because access matters.

This is what happens when clinical expertise meets genuine compassion and a commitment to community impact.
