Are you a massage therapist who’s sick of wearing scrubs? This post is for you!

I used to feel like I had to dress extremely professional and neutral, however, I’ve learned how to have more personal expression in my wardrobe while still dressing practical and appropriate!

Here’s some inspo:
1) Graphic tees! Very functional and comfy while adding some interest 👚
2) linen or linen blend pants- my absolute favorite for summer, so light and breathable without sacrificing mobility🤗
3) COLOR! I don’t know why, but I used to think I had to wear neutral colors in order to have a relaxing ambiance, but I love color and it’s such a fun way to spice up my fits💜
4) monochromatic w/ fun accessories! We may not be able to wear rings or bracelets, but I love wearing a fun headband or necklace!
5) sleeveless tops! So great for using your entire arm as you are working💪🏽

This is not a dig on scrubs or those who choose to wear them, just some inspo on what to wear instead!

I understand some facilities have strict dress codes, but if you have the freedom, wear what makes you feel good and move effectively!

The core is the powerhouse in Pilates terms! Therefore correct engagement is crucial to Pilates exercise.

This consists of:
Abdominals
Pelvic floor muscles
Glutes
Hip flexor muscles
Quadratus lumborum (low back)
Spinal Erector muscles

As you can see the core is so much more than just six pack abs, it’s truly the core of our body!

How to engage the core:
1) place your hands around your ribs
2) inhale, feeling your ribs expand
3) exhale, drawing the ribs inward, and the belly button in toward the spine (everything wrapping around like a corset)
4) tuck the tail bone just slightly

You should feel some tension through the belly, but not so much so that you cannot breathe or talk normally! Now you’re ready to get the best results out of your workouts!

This is one way that I prepare for giving massages.

Getting some stretches, movement and intentional breathing in makes each session a better experience for myself and my clients!

Who recognizes the scalene stretch?! 👀
If you’re a regular client with neck pain/protrusion, I’ve almost certainly shared this stretch with you!

Hi everyone!

My name is Brooke & I am so excited to join Natalie in teaching Pilates!

Over the last 3 years, I’ve become very passionate about health & fitness. I’ve seen first-hand the impact consistent exercise has made on my life- increasing my strength, removing back pain, building confidence, & boosting my mood. As a full-time radiation therapist, who treats cancer patients every day, I am reminded of what a blessing it is to be able to exercise & move your body.

Hi friends!

I’m Natalie, I have been running this business as a massage therapist for about 3 years! I’m so excited to introduce a new side to the business.

As a massage therapist I have learned that often our pain stems from weakness, so strengthening our muscles is crucial. Pilates is one way to improve strength, flexibility and mobility without the damage that can occur with high impact exercise.

I am hopeful that Pilates principles and workouts will positively impact others’ lives as much as it has mine!
