Brooke Jernigan, LCSW. Brooke received her MSW from Radford University in 2009 and her MA in Counseling from Liberty University in 2013. She is an Advanced Certified Autism Specialist from IBCCES University (International Board of Credentialing and Continuing Education Standards). Brooke is a behavioral and mental health practitioner whom has 25-years of experience in working with children, families, and adults within the health care system, foster care, schools, community-based services, and in outpatient practice. Brooke uses several approaches to help individuals overcome problematic behaviors and/or thoughts. Brooke’s goal is to help individuals understand the impact of their thoughts on feelings and behaviors, and learn the skills to strengthen and grow as individuals. Brooke values helping individuals to build confidence, self-worth, and find happiness within ones’ own self, along with helping to support those we love. Brooke is non-judgmental and her goal is to help those whom come to her heal from life’s past and present trauma/hurts. Brooke’s passion in in life is to work with and help children (ages 6+), adolescents, adults, and families. Brooke has expertise in the following mental health disorders, but not limited to: Autism (ASD), Emotional Disturbance, Behaviors/Thought disorders, Family Conflict, Divorce/Separation, Grief/Loss, Anger Management, Oppositional Defiance, Stress related trauma, post-traumatic stress (PTSD), depression, Anxiety disorders, Attachment Disorder, Reactive Attachment/Disinhibited Social Engagement Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, Mood disorders, and chronic pain. Brooke has 25-years of experience working with foster children and families. Brooke also has 10-years of experience working with individuals on the Autism Spectrum, along with supporting and educating their families.
