The student clinic at the LIFT Center at Fallon Park Elementary School is open to any Roanoke City Public Schools student for sick care, sports physicals, school-entrance physicals and immunizations. We're open with limited hours by appointment during winter break (same day appointments may be available!)

Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine students held a children's book drive to encourage and support Fallon Park Elementary School students! We held our first book giveaway last night at LIFT Up Tuesdays, a program that offers free dinner and fun family activities for Fallon Park Elementary families. We are so grateful for the support of our community. Thank you VTSCOM!

We are filled with gratitude for the progress at the LIFT Center this past year. We expanded our reach—including a 136% increase in pediatric visits—and supported students and families thanks to the collaborative efforts of our community partners. Grab a book at the Little Free Library next to the LIFT Center!

Reading with infants and young children can strengthen their relationships with their parents and caregivers and help support brain development. A new policy from AAP says pediatricians should encourage parents to read with their children from birth. Research shows reading together at young ages can build the foundation for language and cognitive development and help set the stage for school readiness. Do you want to read books to your baby but they just don’t seem interested? Join Mamaraderie Roanoke to learn how to read effectively with your young child while improving their understanding and use of language. Following this, babies and toddlers 6-18 months old will participate in activities to improve fine motor and language skills. This session is led by a pediatric speech-language pathologist and a pediatric occupational therapist.
