IT Band syndrome is very common and can be very painful but focused stretching and massage therapy that looses up surrounding muscles and fascia can give relief. In some cases physical therapy may be needed to access muscle strength imbalances or realign hips.

Massage can help SI joint pain by loosening up surrounding muscles and stretching. It is important to find out if your hips are out of alignment and correct it through a well trained doctor, Physical Therapist or chiropractor.. As long as hips are out of alignment one hip will continue to be tighter and may cause more pain.

Sacroiliac (SI) joint pain is felt in the low back and buttocks. The pain is caused by damage or injury to the joint, ligaments, cartilage or muscles. Sacroiliac pain can mimic or occur along with other conditions, such as a herniated disc or hip problem.

Happy holidays! 🌲 ⛄️ 🎁 With the holidays comes more to do, and as your to do list gets longer, your anxiety increases. A massage takes you out of stress mode into a state of relaxation. But even if you don’t get a massage, take a few moments each day to close your eyes and take a few deep breaths and let go. Remember to make the holidays about joy and love and less about how much you bought or how much you did. 😊

Dealing with a “frozen shoulder”? There are many things you can do for a speedy recovery. First you can see a sports medicine doctor who may recommend some physical therapy. Muscles around the shoulder joint need to be stretched and loosened to get full range of motion again. In my sports or medical massage I focus on the rotator cuff muscles and muscles in the neck, chest, and back. With a frozen shoulder like most injuries the condition snowballs affecting surrounding muscles.

These exercises for moderate to severe frozen shoulder may require physical assistance in order to prevent pain and achieve full range of motion.
