The legend has retired! Thank you, Mark Hannon, for your 31 years of dedication as our trusted aviation maintenance technician!

At Life-Guard, we honor a tradition that began shortly after the pandemic—providing a Final Flight for our transitioning flight crew who have dedicated 10 or more years of service. Recognizing that such commitment is only possible with the unwavering support of family, we invite their loved ones to join them for this special moment.

Today, we celebrate Aviation Maintenance Technician Mark Hannon, who has retired after 31 years of extraordinary service. We were honored to provide Mark with his VIP Final Flight, joined by his wife Robin, who was surprised (and a bit teary-eyed) to hear the final tones broadcast while they were in the air.

Thank you, Mark, for more than three decades of dedication, expertise, and heart. Your legacy is woven into the very fabric of Life-Guard. Congratulations on a well-earned retirement.

These final tones are dedicated to Aviation Maintenance Technician Mark Hannon. For 31 years, Mark has faithfully maintained all of our Life-Guard Aircraft and has earned the trust and gratitude of the entire flight crew. Mark, thank you for taking such exceptional care of us throughout your exceptional career. We wish you the best in your well earned retirement. The legend has retired.

Welcome to Rebecca, one of our new flight nurses at Life-Guard 12. She joins our team with previous flight and critical care ground transport experience. In 2017, she took an Intro to Flight Nursing class that was taught by one of our flight nurses and had her first Life-Guard ride along. Glad to have you back here now as one of Life-Guard flight nurses!

We are deeply saddened to hear about the tragic helicopter crash involving our colleagues at Vanderbilt. While we may not cross paths in our everyday lives, we all share the same mission — to serve, to heal, and to help others in their time of need. Our thoughts are with the crew, their families, and everyone affected by this heartbreaking loss.

Our flight crew had the opportunity to teach a Life-Guard Airway Class at WVEMS Mini EMS Symposium. The hands on class focused on airway management with use of SALAD manakin, rapid sequence intubations, surgical crics, and pediatric airways. ALS providers were able to further practice these valuable skills while BLS providers gained better insight on airway management with being able to support ALS interventions.
