The Motor TUG (Timed Up and Go) is more than just a walk-and-stand test. 🏃♂️🪑

It evaluates balance, coordination, and functional mobility by measuring the time it takes to stand from a chair, walk, turn, and sit back down. This gives a clear picture of movement patterns, highlights areas for improvement, and helps track progress over time.

By using the Motor TUG, we can design targeted exercises to improve gait, balance, and overall functional mobility - helping patients move more safely and confidently every day. 💪

Parkinson’s disease can impact movement, coordination, posture, and amplitude but treatment should always keep patients actively engaged in the process.

Our approach emphasizes intentional, high-quality movement to help individuals with Parkinson’s improve motor control and reinforce bigger, more efficient patterns. By focusing on amplitude, repetition, and task-specific training, we work to combat bradykinesia and promote stronger carryover into everyday activities.

Here, we’re highlighting how targeted, functional exercises can support improved gait, balance, posture, and overall mobility. Consistent, purposeful movement is key to driving neuroplastic changes and maintaining independence with Parkinson’s.

The Neubie isn’t your typical e-stim machine. ⚡

Using direct current, it targets muscles more precisely—without completely taking over the movement. This keeps patients actively engaged and performing intentional (volitional) movements to support stronger, more effective neuro recovery. 💪🧠

Here at NRC, we use it to treat a variety of conditions. In this video, we’re highlighting how we pair it with a water bath to stimulate sensation in the hand. The water bath helps improve sensory awareness and promotes better activation of the muscle groups—supporting improved function after a neurological condition.
