For the third year in a row, Cave Spring Baptist Church has come and had a hymn sing along with our residence. We had a wonderful time, singing old hymns, bringing back sweet memories, and we then we sang songs from The Sound of Music. Afterwards, everyone had a great time of conversation, getting to know one another, and introducing themselves as new friends.
We can’t wait till you come back! again.

We had a wonderful visit and tour of the Ronald McDonald House today. Rebecca shared the history of the RMH and gave great information to help us at Harmony to know better how to partner with them to care for children and their families.
Watch for future information as to how you may join Angie Parker at Independent building, Rita Norris at our Memory Care and Brenda Rice at Assisted building as we look to partner with the Roanoke Ronald McDonald House.

The Brother’s Young were at Harmony Assisted Living once again today. They are one of our favorite music groups. They do bluegrass and jazz on the piano and drums. They both do a fantastic job. Our residents really enjoy being entertained by the Brother’s Young.

Today is the longest day of the year, the beginning of summer. Also known for the Longest Day, Alzheimer’s and Dementia Awareness. At Harmony Assisted Living, we hosted the Longest Day at the Beach Block Party for our residence in Independent, Memory Care and Assisted Living. The day began with our Powerback therapy team, helping us with an Alzheimer’s Awareness walk. Several of our business partners were on hand to talk with us about dementia, home care, Leaving Legacy for your family, and several even experienced a dementia assimilation test. In our library, we had a blood pressure clinic where anyone could go in and just have a quick blood pressure check if they wanted. Afterward, we enjoyed a fantastic lunch prepared by our chefs, Marcus and Matt, and the incredible dining team at Harmony Assisted Living. Many enjoyed some Deb’s Lemonade as they were also playing co****le and an unofficial form of volleyball with the staff members. We ended the day with the Steel drum band, the Bahama Mamas, who did a wonderful job entertaining staff and residence and guests. Thank you to everyone in the staff, our business partners our Dining team, our clinical team and the managerial team for making today a wonderful day and for bringing awareness of Alzheimer’s and Dementia to our community.
