Marlon Johnson Rooney, 83, of Ashland, passed away on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at Clay County Nursing Home.
Survivors include her daughter, Connie Mastin of Connecticut; two sons, Phillip Rooney (Gina) of Ashland and Jeffrey Mastin (Michelle) of Sylacauga; sister, Sue Smith of Roanoke; 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Rooney was born on August 12, 1942, the daughter of Tom L. and Varnice Cox Johnson. She was Christian by faith. Mrs. Rooney was a hard worker and worked as a machine operator at Capitol Vial of Alabama until she was 72. She enjoyed watching T.V.; she especially loved watching NASCAR and the Alabama Crimson Tide play football. Mrs. Rooney was preceded in death by her parents, and four siblings, Jan Brown, Larry Johnson, David Johnson and Johnny Johnson.
A private service will be held at a later date.
