The River Rock is an indoor rock climbing gym located on the first floor of the River House in the Wasena Village next to the Roanoke River, Greenway, and Wasena Park in Roanoke, VA. of climbing with over 30 top-rope and lead routes, plus plenty of world-class bouldering.

To kickoff our new series of Spotlight on Staff: Chance🥳 Fun Fact: Today is Chance’s Birthday🎉 Chance has been climbing for about a year and a half, and while he’s been working with ropes a lot recently, bouldering will always have his heart🫶🏽 He loves to sing at the top of his lungs while driving on the parkway🏞️, going to concerts🕺, and hangin at home with his cat Elsie😸 He’ll never say no to going out for his favorite food: Korean BBQ😎

Our climb of the week is our staff member Ken!!! But this climb has a story! For his 66th birthday he decided to climb 66 routes in the gym then run 6.6 miles bare foot on the greenway all in one day to celebrate😱🎉🎉! This was his 66th climb of the day! Happy Birthday and way to go Ken!!

Happy Memorial Day from River Rock!! A few of our staff took a personal trip caving over this weekend and a bunch more got outside to climb! Hope you all are having a fun and enjoyable weekend! Remember that we have limited hours today from 10am-5pm.

The youth comp team sent two people to regionals this past weekend! We are so proud of the entire team for all of their hard work this season and are looking forward to the next one! We had done person qualify for divisional!!! Great work everyone!
