Leadership gets overhyped most of the time. Then you run into someone like Jenna Boerstler and realize what it’s actually supposed to look like.

We’re proud to recognize Jenna as Good Sam’s Path Leader of the Month for April 2026.

Jenna leads with heart in the ways that matter. She shows up for her team, jumps in when help is needed, and creates space for others to grow, even in the middle of difficult moments. Whether she’s guiding clinicians through tough conversations, covering an on-call shift, or finishing a long day with a patient, she does it with consistency, compassion, and zero expectation of recognition.

Her team describes her as steady, supportive, and always within reach. Someone who listens, encourages, and celebrates growth, even when it’s hard. She lives the mission every single day.

Congratulations, Jenna, and thank you for the impact you make across Good Sam.

Some memories stay with us always.

Good Sam’s 2nd Annual Memorial Service & Butterfly Release is a time to come together, honor those we love, and find comfort in a shared moment of remembrance. As butterflies take flight, we remember the lives, stories, laughter, and love that continue to live in our hearts.

Please join us on June 6 at 10 a.m. at 4751 Cove Rd NW in Roanoke. Open to the community, the event will include music, children’s activities, light refreshments, and a remembrance ceremony.

This Occupational Therapy Month, we’re celebrating Suzann, Brad, and Ashley for the incredible care they provide through their work at Good Sam.

Our Occupational Therapy team helps patients do more than complete daily tasks. They help restore confidence, support independence, and improve quality of life in ways that are deeply meaningful for patients and families alike.

Thank you for the compassion, dedication, and skill you bring to this work every day!

Sometimes, the most powerful recognition comes straight from the families we serve. One family recently shared this about Tina McGeorge: "When Tina came to take care of him, he was calm and happy. When someone's existence is so small and scary, that moment of calm and love he received was a gift."

It's no surprise that Tina has been named the recipient of the Oakey's Funeral Service & Crematory's Hospice Caregiver Award for February 2026. Tina, the peace and comfort you bring to patients and families is immeasurable. Thank you for the gift that you are!

Volunteer Week gives us the chance to recognize a group that helps strengthen care in quiet but powerful ways: our volunteers. Their generosity helps create moments of comfort, reassurance, and dignity for the patients and families we are honored to serve.

At Good Sam, volunteers are not on the sidelines. They are an important part of the compassionate support that surrounds those in our care, and we are grateful for the difference they make each day.

Some of the most meaningful support often comes through presence, kindness, and simply showing up. That is exactly what Good Sam’s volunteers do for the patients and families we serve.

During Volunteer Week, we want to thank our volunteers for the comfort, compassion, and connection they bring to others. Your time and your heart make a real difference, and we are deeply grateful for all you do.
