Annex Teen Clinic provides sexuality-related health care services in a friendly and comfortable setting. We also facilitate fact-based education for young people, parents, professionals and community members. The Annex Teen Clinic has been serving the community of Northwest Hennepin County and North Minneapolis since 1971.

November 1st is the start of Give to the Max, Minnesota's annual statewide day of giving, created in 2009 to support local nonprofits and schools through online donations made via GiveMN.org.

Now is the time to stand with youth.

For more than 50 years, the Annex Teen Clinic has been here for young people — providing compassionate, confidential, and judgment-free sexual healthcare and education. Every year, we help thousands of youth access birth control, STI testing and treatment, HIV prevention, and honest, inclusive sexual health education.

One patient recently shared, “I wouldn’t be able to afford this type of [healthcare] if it wasn’t for [the Annex].”

Today is Spirit Day! is the world’s most visible anti-bullying movement inspiring LGBTQ youth, especially transgender and nonbinary youth to live their lives in their truth and authenticity. We are here to celebrate the youth we serve and ensure everyone has a space where they can be unapologetically themselves.

We are so grateful to HandsOn Twin Cities and H.B. Fuller Company for volunteering their time and energy and joining us on a chilly soggy day to take care of the Annex‘s exterior! Together we washed windows, picked up trash, and weeded and seeded the green spaces. Thank you, thank you.

Today is International Pronouns Day! Every year on the third Wednesday in October, we mark International Pronouns Day. According to the official website, this day “seeks to make respecting, sharing and educating about personal pronouns commonplace,” with the goal of “transform[ing] society to celebrate people’s multiple, intersecting identities.” Knowing people’s pronouns helps us to refer to them correctly and respectfully. While many people use he/him or she/her pronouns, others may use they/them, ze/zir, other pronouns, or combinations of these pronouns. We are here to provide people the confidence to both be themselves and ensure we are being respectful and accurate when speaking about others.

The first National Coming Out Day, organized by Jean O’Leary and Dr. Robert Eichberg with the National Coming Out Day organization, was observed on October 11, 1988, the first anniversary of the National March on Washington for Le***an and Gay Rights.

We will have free confidential STI testing services, youth resources, light refreshments, and a swag giveaway available for anyone who gets tested. October is LGBTQ History Month! An annual month-long observance that provides role models, builds community, and represents a civil rights statement about the invaluable contributions of the LGBTQ community. Founded in 1994 by Rodney Wilson, a gay history teacher from rural Missouri, LGBTQ History Month was declared a national history month by President Barack Obama in 2009. This celebration coincides with National Coming Out Day (October 11) and commemorates the first and second marches on Washington for LGBTQ rights in 1979 and 1987.
