Happy Halloween!
Happy Halloween from Dr. Beth Egan Lodge DMD & team! We know many of you are gearing up for a night of tricks and treats and wish you a safe, fun time. Halloween is one of the oldest holidays and truly a great time for laughter and entertainment. While customs vary from city to city, one constant remains the same: CANDY! So, we would be remiss to let the day go by without reminding you and your children about your oral health.
To maintain good dental care during Halloween, focus on brushing your teeth thoroughly after consuming candy, especially sticky or sugary treats, using fluoride toothpaste, and flossing regularly; limit the amount of candy eaten, choose less damaging options like chocolate over chewy candies, drink plenty of water to rinse away sugar, and consider carrying a travel-sized toothbrush if you're out trick-or-treating; for children, supervise their brushing and ensure they are properly cleaning their teeth after eating candy.
