Crawford County Rescue conducted our annual night dive training. The goal of this training is to prepare us in case we get called to a dive incident at night. The recently certified shore responders expanded on their skills and learned the difficulty of dives at night. We would like to thank the Turners for allowing us to dive in their pit. It is greatly appreciated.

Today Rescue conducted dive/extrication training. First, we searched a pond for a vehicle. Once we found the vehicle we did a mock rescue of a mannequin that was in the vehicle. We did site sketches and measurments of the scene. We then pulled the vehicle from the pond. Once on land, we switched to extrication training. Thanks to Shane Langley for the use of his pond. Our dive team conducted training this morning at the lake at Oblong Park. We went through basic rope techniques. Then our divers practiced maze anchor training which includes divers entering the water from the boat and working patterns around the maze anchor. This also gave our dive tenders a chance to do their work from the boat rather than the shoreline. Team members who maneuvered the boat also got a little practice on the sonar.
We are very thankful to the Village of Oblong for allowing us to train at the park.

PSA: Today starting sround 9am Crawford County Rescue Dive Team will be conducting dive training at the Oblong Lake. The park will be open as usual. The public is welcome to come watch if you would like. We just ask that you please keep the roads open and stay safely back aways. Once again this is just training.
