Heading back to school? Let’s make sure your child’s backpack is helping—not hurting—their health.

✅ Size matters:
• The bottom of the backpack should sit at the waist or just above the hips.
• Straps should be snug and worn on both shoulders.

✅ Weight check:
• A backpack should weigh no more than 10–15% of your child’s body weight.
• Example: If your child weighs 80 lbs, their backpack should be under 12 lbs.

⚠️ Overloaded or oversized bags can lead to poor posture, back pain, and fatigue.
