We’re pleased to offer Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) — a non-medication treatment option for individuals struggling with depression and OCD.

In this video, Dr. Joel Young explains how TMS works and what patients can expect.

TMS uses targeted magnetic pulses to stimulate areas of the brain involved in mood regulation. It is:
✔️ FDA-cleared
✔️ Non-invasive
✔️ Performed while you’re awake
✔️ 20–30 minutes per session
✔️ No sedation and no downtime — you can drive yourself home

TMS is approved for adults and adolescents ages 15 and older with major depressive disorder, and for adults with obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD).

If medications haven’t provided enough relief, TMS may be an effective alternative.

Eating disorders are often stereotypically associated with women, but it is crucial to recognize that men are also significantly affected by these conditions. The societal pressure to conform to certain body standards, combined with the stigma surrounding mental health and eating disorders, can make it particularly challenging for men to seek help and support. Factors such as media representation, athletic demands, and cultural norms can contribute to the development of eating disorders in men. RCBM is here to help. Don't hesitate to contact us: https://www.rcbm.net/behavioral-medicine/eating-disorders-treatment/

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (NEDAW) is an annual campaign to educate the public about the realities of eating disorders and to provide hope and visibility to all those impacted by eating disorders. NEDAW 2026 is Monday, February 23 – Sunday, March 1, 2026.

This year's theme is: Fighting for Change, Committed to Change – Every Body Belongs

The onset of an eating disorder is a complex interaction of biological, psychological, and environmental social factors. Although some of these aspects are outside of our control, there are other ways we can work to prevent the development of eating disorders. If you or someone you know has an eating disorder, our experts at RCBM can help. https://www.rcbm.net/behavioral-medicine/eating-disorders-treatment/

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week (NEDAW) takes place from February 23 to March 1, 2026. This week raises awareness, promotes early intervention, and works to reduce stigma surrounding eating disorders.

This year's theme, "Every BODY Belongs," reminds us that eating disorders affect individuals of all sizes, backgrounds, and identities.

Sophia Pirela, a dietetic intern from Andrews University, shares a blog exploring weight stigma and its impact on eating disorders.

Struggling with chronic insomnia? There’s another way forward.

In this video, Julia Rodgers, BSN, LMSW shares how Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Insomnia (CBT-I) helps address the root cause of sleep difficulties - not just the symptoms.

Unlike approaches that rely solely on medication or environmental changes, CBT-I focuses on:
🧠 Changing unhelpful thoughts about sleep
😟 Reducing the fear of not sleeping
💤 Calming the nervous system’s hyperarousal
🔄 Shifting behaviors that unintentionally perpetuate insomnia

By helping the mind and body settle around bedtime, CBT-I can improve sleep in a sustainable, evidence-based way.

If racing thoughts, nighttime wakefulness, or anxiety around sleep sound familiar, you’re not alone - and support is available.

Alyssa Cooley, MA, Screening Team Clinical Lead, gives an overview of the COMPASS program at RCBM (Comprehensive Psychological Assessment & Screening Services). The program begins with diagnostic screening of up to 60 psychiatric conditions whose results help patients understand their mental health symptoms, clarify the overall clinical picture, and provide a strong foundation and support needed. If more specific information is needed to understand a learning disorder, cognitive changes, or ASD, a comprehensive psychological evaluation will be recommended to provide further clarification. The COMPASS program provides an overall personalized roadmap to arm patients with confidence and offer the right level of care.
